NASCAR Diversity Interns begin their Race Season

DAYTONA BEACH -- Thirteen students from across the U.S. were selected for the 2009 NASCAR Diversity Internship Program and started work Monday on the 10-week, paid summer internships.

In addition to NASCAR corporate offices in Daytona Beach, Charlotte, and Concord, companies participating are Catalyst Public Relations, Daytona International Speedway, International Speedway Corp., Joe Gibbs Racing, Just Marketing International, Octagon, The SPEED Channel and The 909 Group.

Just a gentle reminder, females and fashionistas fall into this category so we look forward to reporting on some of this class!

The students, hometown and school are Gabriela Acuna, Peachtree City, Ga., Georgia College and State University; Kara Adams, Ashburn, Va., Howard University; Arrionne Allen, Mauldin, S.C., Hampton University/Indiana University; Anim Amersingh, Trinidad and Tobago, Morgan State University; Erica Anderson, Claremont, Calif., Florida A&M University; Jaime Bowman, Brooklyn, N.Y., Howard University; Reina Carson, Albuquerque, N.M., Bethune Cookman University; Brenda Kittles, Bowie, Md., Winston-Salem State University; Courtney McKnight, Frederick, Md., Johnson C. Smith University; De'Marcus Miller, Charlotte, N.C., Winston-Salem State/High Point; Kris Rincon, Agua Dulce, Calif., University of Arizona; Rodrigo Sanchez, Mexico City, Austin (Texas) Community College; and Sydney Snow, Jacksonville, North Carolina A&T University.
