Brian Vickers is the King of Michigan

As I mentioned last week, we have been pretty busy!! I have spent the last week packing, unpacking and organizing. I think it is finally coming together though. Only a few injuries have taken place, one small matter of electrocution and a cat who absolutely loathes my new house and wont leave my walk in closet.

So, with that being said, it is time to get back into the blog. First of and foremost, congrats to adorable Brian Vickers and the #83 Red Bull Racing team. We are huge fans of Vickers. I was quite happy when he clenched both poles for Michigan. Vickers has been the pole king this year....did I really just write that? He claimed his 6th NSCS pole for the 2009 season which makes for his third consecutive pole at Michigan. This is one happy girl for picking him this week in my fantasy league.

Onto a little issue called Gas. We were heartbroken last weekend when Martin Truex Jr ran out of gas on the last lap at Watkins Glen, which ruined his chances at his best finish of the 2009 season. Now my heart aches for Jimmie Johnson, who was leading both Michigan races this year, and ran out of gas in the final laps. Gambling on gas will win it or loose it. Guess this wasn't the gambling kinda year at Michigan for Johnson and Knaus.

So, once again, many congrats to Vickers and Pemberton, who made all the right moves this weekend. I was present at Talladega 2006 when Vickers claimed his first (albeit controversial) race and watched many fans throw beer cans at him for "wrecking" JR. I am very happy he can add Michigan to his trophy collection.
