Savenger Hunt, Twitter and Clint Bowyer

If you find yourself in Pocono this weekend, make sure you follow The Hartford on Twitter. They will be tweeting live from the track on Sunday, August 2nd, giving fans a chance to win signed sheet metal, crew sheets and an infield meet and greet with the Clint Bowyer, driver of the #33 Chevy sponsored by The Hartford.

The Hartfords Tweets will start Sunday morning at 8:33 am and will continue every hour until 1:33 pm.

This past week, The Hartford hosted a virtual scavenger hunt which gave fans the chance to win a trip to the Dickies 500 in Fort Worth Texas, including airfare, lodging, race tickets, prize money and a meet and greet with Clint Bowyer. Clint will be drawing the winner on Sunday at 11am.

Carl Edwards to appear on The Bill Engvall Show this weekend.

AHEM.....Ok all you Carl Edwards fans....boy wonder is appearing on The Bill Engvall Show this Saturday, August 1 at 9pm. Here is a clip of the show along with an interview between Carl and Matt Yocum.

Here is what Carl's website has to say about the show:

Bill tries to re-create his best dating memories with Susan in an all-new episode of TBS's hit comedy THE BILL ENGVALL SHOW, followed by a special encore episode.
When Susan tells Bill she misses the excitement of young love, he decides to revive that feeling by recreating the best moments from their dating days. NASCAR driver Carl Edwards co-stars as a club manager who gets into a run-in with the couple when they attempt to get past the velvet rope. Meanwhile, Lauren and Trent have to babysit Bryan, but they each have dates to go see a movie. The only solution is to take him to the movies as well, which is a great plan until Bryan disappears.

This girls Tivo is already set to record the show! I love nothing more than Carl in prime time television :)

Women in the Winner's Circle will debut exhibit in Daytona Beach

Sometimes (seriously, just sometimes) living in Daytona Beach can give you that warm and fuzzy feeling....no, we aren't talking about that feeling you get from drinking a nice bottle of champagne. The Daytona 500 Experience will be the first venue to host The Women in the Winner's Circle traveling exhibit which will recognize the history and growing achievements of women in racing.

Women in the Winners Circle was founded by retired Indy Car driver, Lyn St. James. The organization spotlights on women who aspire to become race car drivers and has a variety of programs for driver development, advocacy, diversity and education. The foundation is dedicated to making a difference and reaching the point in time when opportunity and diversity are no longer concerns.

The Women in the Winners Circle exhibition will teach the history of women in motorsports. We are big fans and supporters of female race car drivers and have had the opportunity to interview quite a few of them this season. The exhibition will have graphic panels, video, photos and memorabilia and we can't wait to see it.

The Women in the Winners Circle exhibit will debut at The Daytona 500 Experience beginning in January 2010 and on display through March 2010. Following Daytona, the exhibit will travel to 1o other American venues.

Smokes Swaggerin back to Pocono

Can Tony Stewart keep up his momentum and claim back to back Pocono wins? The way his season has gone so far, I will be betting on it.

One of our favorite NASCAR commercials of all time is that of Tony Stewart Old Spice Swagger. When I heard the news that Tony is trading his red Office Depot bat mobile for a candy apple red Old Spice Swagger ride, I felt the need to visit youtube to and watch this commercial one more time:

According to Jayski.com, following the race, fans will have the chance to bid on the Swagger firesuit worn by Stewart, with proceeds from the auction benefiting the Tony Stewart Foundation. Icouldn't find anything in regards to the auction but you can read a indepth article with Smoke here.

Thanks to RacingOne.com Twitter for the image below of Tony's Swagger ride this weekend.

Why are we in Pocono again?

Im just wondering if anyone has a logical explanation or if anyone thinks that its terribly strange that there has only been 65 days since the last time we were in The Tricky Triangle. I am sure routing has something to do with it, especially since we say this in Daytona 500,000 times that we wish the race in July could be in a cooler month. I am just wondering if there is a better explanation. That poor track! A. It gets hit over the head twice in a two month span and B. they are bored as hay all year round.

Entry List for this weeks race in here, thanks to Jayski whose new layout Im loving! Mark Martin is on fire, maybe he will cross Pocono off the list of tracks he has never won at...further screwing my fantasy league.

Runway Monday

Although I am no longer in school and I don't have any children, my favorite time of year has always been back to school shopping. One of my reasons is that everything is on sale! Today's Runway Monday features both categories at reduced prices.
