Blog Abuse!!!

NO, we aren't dead! And yes, we are still NASCAR fans.

I will start with a huge apology for disappearing. We never thought this would happen to our precious blog but it was the first thing we both had to let go of when our worlds went cray busy in early 2010. Both Darlynn and I started our own companies and we had to focus on them. Plus, sad to say but neither of us have been to a race since the Daytona 500, due to our hectic schedules. NASCAR had to take a backseat.

So our apologies go out there to all of our readers, our friends, our connections and anyone else. I have wanted to blog so many times about NASCAR but I haven't had the neutral heart to go there. I start it and end up ranting and raving, and trust me, you don't want that. I am going to keep quite about my thoughts on this seasons chase and the fact that it needs to be reformatted.

We spent so long getting this blog to where it was. We gained the connections we wanted. Gained the national audience we needed to make it successful and we let if fail. So let us apologize once again. I hope that we can succeed in making this our baby once again, once the dust of our new lives settle!

Hi Kids, I know that we have been missing in action but how can I not blog about such local goodness?? In today's, Daytona Beach News Journal...breaking news!! The Nation is out of the recession?? They found Bin Laden?? Oh no!! Miraculously, JC France has had his drug charges dropped and his Grand AM license has been reinstated. Are you cuss word kidding me? The News Journal reports....
"All the evidence that Daytona Beach police piled up against France was thrown out because of a jurisdictional technicality."

Well, there you go...justice is served! Please check out the readers comments, its worth a giggle! If you missed the gem of why he was arrested in the first place, enjoy!!

See you soon, (we promise)

A Fast Lap with Marty Smith

During Daytona Speedweeks, we sat down with ESPN's Marty Smith and chatted everything from College football to great books to the Bachelor. We had a blast with Marty and he was a real pleasure to meet. Here is our Fast Lap with Marty Smith1. What music have you recently put on your iPod?
I just met Jack Ingram, who is a really awesome guy and a great singer and song writer. I am big into song writers. A really good budy of mine is Eric Church. I admire his ability to convey a message emotional into his music.

2. What was the last movie you saw?
I just took my son to see Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakqual. (laughs). I also recently saw and loved Inglorious Bastards. It was absolutely phenomenal. Tarantino is a total trip and an amazing director but this was different for him. It had his same edge but it was deep at the same time.

3. What are your favorite TV shows?
My Favorite show on TV is Friday Night Lights which is now on the 101 network on DirecTV. I Don’t understand why Network didn't keep the show. The Director, Peter Berg is a total rock star. I am amazed by that show on a lot of levels. They took what was an engaging High School football show and turned it into a dramatic production. It is awesome. My wife Laney and I also watch a lot of reality TV. She has been making me watch the Bachelor.
Who do you think is going to win?
I don't care! He messed up when he kicked off Ashley!

4. What other sporting teams/events do you follow?
Virginia Tech Hokies Football….obsessed. I am completely over the board and insane about it. I read incisively about it. Some of my fondest memories were of me and my Dad going to Hookies Football games. I lived 15 miles from the stadium growing up. One of the coolest things anyone ever gave me Coach Beamer signed a helmet for me.

5. What is one personal item you cannot live without?
My blackberry. It’s tied to me 24 hours a day. Especially now that twitter has taken the world by storm. I joined twitter the spring Atlanta race 2009 (@martysmithespn). It's readily changing media. Twitter is one of the most impactful method vehicles to disseminate news. It’s immediate and intimate. I take Twitter seriously. I respond to people on it and I appreciate people that follow me. Can you imagine being a fan of Kasey Kahne or Denny Hamlin and following them on Twitter? I know that when I was a little boy, if I had a direct vehicle to Michael Jordan or Dale Murphy and being able to see something they actual wrote, it's awesome!

6. What are your favorite places to visit?
Love going to the Caribbean Islands my wife. I also love to going home to Pearisburg, Virginia.

7. What is your favorite book or publication?
Black Hawk Down,by Mark Bowden. It’s an awesome book
Friday Night Lights by H.G. Bissigner. What most people don’t know about that book is that it is a socioeconomic, sociopolitical book. High School Football is the platform but it was so much more than that
Generation Kill by Evan Wright.
Greatest Generation by Tom Brokaw

8. What is your favorite cuisine?
I am very health conscious. I pretty much fish, chicken, turkey & sushi.

9. What is your favorite activity to do in your off time?
Go to Jays at the Lake in Cornelius NC with my wife and my buddies. Listen to Eric Church on the Jukebox, sip on some Jack Daniels and make fun of one another. Also, hanging out with my two Children Cambron and Mia.

Office Depot Tony Stewart Chair winner #2

Congrats to Tom from Wilmington, NC, as he is the second winner in our signed Tony Stewart Office Depot Chair giveaway.
Tom's office is full of Office Depot Tony Stewart Garb, including but not limited to #14 trash can, #14 clock, & life sized Tony Stewart cutout, #14 Fat Heads, Banners and die casts. BUT what you don't see in this photo is a Tony Stewart's left rear tire from the first race Tom ever attended. It used to be mounted on his wall, but the smell was to strong that he is currently having it encased in plexiglass.

Tom's office is very tastefully put together and not over the top. We think the chair will look FAB in there! Now all he needs is a Tony Stewart ceiling fan and he will be all set.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this contest and stay tuned for the next giveaway from the Fashionistas!

Jamie McMurray is our new hero

One thing we have always done on this blog is try our hardest to be impartial to all NASCAR teams and drivers. Sure, we have our childhood favorites, drivers we were brought up to like according to our parents preferences and as adults, and teams we have grown to love.

One team (pun intended) that we have the softest spot for is that of the #1 Bass Pro Shops Chevy team, originally operated by Dale Earnhardt Inc. We have watched over the past few years as friends of ours have gone different directions through the mergers of Ginn Racing and with Chip Ganassi to form Earnhardt Ganassi Racing.

The last time we felt this similar swell of pride was when Martin Truex Jr. claimed the pole for the 09 Daytona 500 while driving for the #1 team. Its just a good feeling to see your friends who work so hard behind the scenes reap the benefits. Late last year, MTJ announced his plans to leave EGR to join up with Michael Waltrip Racing. When the news came across that Jamie McMurray was filling the drivers seat, we were happily anticipating a great 2010.

But we weren't expecting this

One of the first thing Jamie said after the win was, "I want to get with my team." How could you not watch the end of this race and fall in love with Jamie and the passion of this sport? Jamie, we couldn't be happier to see you join forces with our friends on the #1 team. The respect and gratitude you have shown to your team that we have witnessed over the last two weeks is a breath of fresh air for these boys. Congrats on winning the 2010 Daytona 500, the Super Bowl of NASCAR. And PS, you need teach Bono how to open and spray a bottle of champagne so he is ready for your next win!

Office Depot Tony Stewart Chair winner #1

Tonight, we would like to announce the first winner of the Office Depot Tony Stewart signed chair contest.....

And the chair goes to: Ashley!!

Here are some of the highlights of her home office.

Ashley's office is complete with collectibles from his #14 car including Office Depot, Old Spice and Burger King as well as when Tony raced the #20 Home Depot. There are many 1:24,1:64 and 1:87 cars including but not limited to a autographed 1:24 scale Burger King car. Actual lug nuts from Smoke's car. Not included in this photo are the 500+ trading cars acquired over more than 10 years of trading, more 1:24 scale cars due to lack of space. They are currently building a "Smoke Pit", a room they are building for ALL of their Smoke propaganda.

Congrats Ashley!!!!! We will announce the winner of chair number 2 tomorrow!

Ch Ch Changes for 2010-they dont call it Silly for Nothing

Unless you are on the internet 24/7 searching for NASCAR gossip which we hope it is only us who have no life...you may not be aware of some driver/sponsor/number changes for the Sprint Cup season. We will do our best to give you some info to make your 500 experience a little less confusing. The pictures that I have posted are the ones that will make you do a double take, i.e. the #43 not driven by Reed Sorrenson, that has a Best Buy sponsorship on it that is not driven by Elliott Sadler...you see what I mean. A public service from me to you that you dont go stalking after the wrong car!

#1- Bass Pro Shops Chevy now driven by Jamie McMurray

#2- Steve Addington will be the new crew chief for Busch not the Kyle but the Kurt. The Miller Light Dodge driven by Kurt Busch

#6- Donnie Wingo will be the new crew chief for the UPS Ford driven by David Ragan

#7- Robbie Gordon will have a new main sponsor (Monster Energy, for now) and a new crew chief (Iain Watt). Jim Beam will not return as a sponsor.

#9 -Kasey Kahne is now driving a Ford under new merged team Yates/Rousch

#12- Replacing David Stremme (and Coors) -Brad Keselowski has a new sponsor (Verizon) and crew chief (Jason Guy)
#17 Matt Kennseth will have a new sponsor in Crown Royal for 18 races. Dewalt Tools will not return.

#18 Dave Rogers will be the new crew chief for Kyle Busch

#19 RPM merged with Yates, putting Elliott Sadler in a Ford, unclear for Best Buy Sponsorship

#26 Replacing Jamie McMurray will be Boris Said, with Frankie Stoddard in the crew chief position for the Daytona 500 race. No Crown Royal on the #26 anymore.
#31 Jeff Burton gets a new crew chief with Todd Berrier replacing Scott Miller.

#34 John Andretti and Travis Kvapil have formed an alliance with Front Row Motorsports with this car, which is now a Ford.

#36 Tommy Baldwin will step down as crew chief to concentrate on the operational side of his race team. Mike Bliss is the new driver to this venture, Kevin Buskirk will be the crew chief and will now be in a Chevy. Wave Energy Drink will sponsor 18 races.

#37 and #38 Using the owner points of #96 and #98, the #37 will be run by Travis Kvapil for the 500 and Kevin Conway with sponsor Extenze for at least the next five races.
Both teams are now under the new umbrella Front Row Motosports with Yates Racing and have changed to Fords. #38 will have three drivers: Robert Richardson, John Andretti and David Gilliand. Randy Seals comes from RPM for the #38 and Peter Sospenzo will chief the #37. That car is also working on a deal to borrow owner points from the #44 and #96.

#43 is now driven by AJ Allmendinger replacing the ousted Reed Sorrenson. They have a part time sponsor with Best Buy for some races. They are in Fords...for now.

#49 David Gilliand for the 500 and Robbie Gordon for California and maybe more will run this car sponsored by Warner Brothers and Larry the Cable Guy. Stay tuned on this one...

#55 Michael McDowell will run a full season bearing sponsorship dollars and qualifying attempts. Michael Waltrip Racing keeps the team number and is helping Prism Motorsports out. Zach McGowan will debut as his crew chief.

#56 (formerly #55) Michael Waltrip steps out of the car after the 500 in the #51 to focus on the owner side of his business. Martin Truex Jr replaces him in the #56, Pat Tryson will crew chief coming over from his stint with Kurt Busch.

#71 TRG Motorsports gets a helping hand from Stewart Haas Racings pit crew and replacing David Gilliand will be Bobby Labonte. Losing that little engine that could image, TRG may or may not have a 2 car team this season. Slugger Labbe is out as he heads to the #98, and Doug Randolph, Casey Mears old crew chief will take the helm.

#78 Reagan Smith will have a new chief in Ryan Coniam, former engineer for Jacques Villeneuve and MB2 Motorsports. This team has also formed a technical partnership with Richard Childress. This team plans to run a full schedule in 2010.

#90 Casey Mears ends up with a ride after all, even if it is only for the first couple of races. Based on his performance, it may last longer. Doug Richert (Robbie Gordon) will be the crew chief. No permanent sponsor at this time is announced. Love the old school paint scheme!

#98 Paul Menard has a new crew chief in Slugger Labbe and will hopefully be able to retain his families' sponsorship for the full season.

A Fast Lap with Tony Stewart

With our past experiences in NASCAR, we have had the exciting opportunity to meet quite a few VIP's...but interviewing two time Sprint Cup Champion and NASCAR Bad Boy Tony Stewart was a chance of a lifetime. Although we were a little nervous going in, Tony was kind, patient, and the best interview we have had to date.

When we started to explain to Tony what the concept of our website was NASCAR for women with all their teeth and a touch of Fashion...he responded a fashion what? a fashion NASCAR site? HUH? He told us he has NO fashion sense whatsoever, and we need to get a credit card and go shopping with him. He credited his ex girlfriends and their still good standing relationships for keeping him clothed fashionably.

He told us about his upcoming designs for his Smoke by Tony Stewart fashion line. After hearing the initial concepts, which he promises will not be loud and proud NASCAR wear, we are looking forward to seeing it and hearing more about it.

So here is what you all have been waiting for, our Fast Lap with Tony Stewart!!

Both of us are cat owners and have to know, how on Earth do you travel with your cats?
Really easy, I have two boys that are brothers. Since day one, they have traveled with me and are somewhat used to it, and although one doesnt really like to travel once you get them to the weekend they are fine. They are easy...they are cats, make sure they have food and water and their litterbox is clean and I dont have to worry about it...

What one moment has star struck you the most?
Ill tell you someone I would like to meet but haven't met yet is Burt Reynolds. My favorite movie of all time is Smokey the Bandit (the original one) I even have a '79 Trans Am Smokey and the Bandit edition, so I would love to meet Burt Reynolds. I have met and am friends with Kid Rock and Diamond Rio. I met Matthew McConaughey last year when he was the Grand Marshall. This weekend when you come to the race there is gonna be a ton of celebrities there, professional athletes and entertainment industry-that part of it makes it pretty cool for us.

If you can have dinner and drinks with anyone dead or alive, who would it be?

Charlize Theron, preferably fresh off a divorce

We have 2500+ followers on Twitter and we asked them what they wanted us to ask you....one thing that came back a lot is why aren't you on Twitter?

Honestly?? Its good for people that can keep up with that, but if I had the time to Twitter properly, there is something work wise I should probably be doing. I think the technology side is cool, that side of it is awesome but I barely got on Facebook within the last year. I am one of those guys who is always a step behind in that category. I honestly don't want everyone to know what I am doing every minute of the day. If you have that much time to be doing that you probably have time to be doing something else more productive.

Do you have any pre-race traditions?

Before the race, I like to be by myself. Its kind of the calm before the storm I call it. I like to have a good lunch, I eat a steak before the race-something that is gonna last the 3 or 4 hour race. Relax and be by myself.

We hear your building a new home. What was the most important feature you put in the house?

I got a gigantic fish tank in there, its 12 feet tall by 10 feet tall. That is probably the coolest thing I have in there. Its freshwater and probably will be the most impressive thing in there.

When will it be completed?

By the middle of next summer

Is it in NC??

No, its in Indiana.

You're always upfront and totally honest with the media and your emotions. We believe you are the only driver that can get away with this. Why do you think that is?

You learn to fight the fights that are worth fighting. You can be honest but you just have to be conscious about how you do it. People want to hear honesty whether its popular or not, but you just have to try to not be abrasive with how you say it. How I can get away with it is I have cool sponsors that let me do it. Office Depot before we started together, that is what they liked about me. I am open about my thoughts and my passion for the sport. They realize as a corporate sponsor that fans aren't so excited about drivers that are politically correct anymore. They wanted someone who could show their emotions. Office Depot, Old Spice, Coca Cola, The US Army, Burger King, Tornados, all these companies-if it was totally wrong all these corporations wouldn't want to be a part of what we are doing. So, it makes you feel good that you have partners I think we have gotten good at getting our point across without getting everyone upset doing it.

We think that this is why you are someone's favorite driver because you speak your mind, and that there is a fine line between getting your point across and you seem to do it pretty eloquently....

Well, if you screw up enough times you are bound to get it right! Its hard, I remember when I left home my buddies said dont forget where you came from. I have always struggled to be me, the hard part for me was saying Ok, Listen I could still be me but this is who I am on the professional side too and no matter how much I want to be me on the personal side, this is who I am over here... you have to play two roles. Today I have to play a different role than tonight when I will be with my buddies playing cards. You learn how to do that, you can show people you still know who you are on this side but you can still show them how you are on the other side. I think people appreciate that.

Pictures and Thoughts from the Gatorade Duels

One thing I love about the Friday after the Duels is its a good chance to relax...if you want to go to the track during the day you can, but it gives you a chance to regroup and get your stuff together before tonights Truck race.
Here are some pictures we took yesterday from different vantage points like Pit Road and the Daytona 500 club that you might enjoy. If you have some extra cash this race week, or if you know peeps (thanks RB) why dont you check out the Daytona 500 club? Fun!

Jamie McMurray, a more cheerful collaboration for Bass Pro we promise...he even THANKED his pit crew pre-race!

Mrs Jeff Gordon with Ella carefully covered her baby bump on Pit Road

Ok, I'm not a professional but this is a good picture haha

Kasey Kahne in Victory Lane

The World's Biggest #9 Fan A.J. (too cute not to repost)

So what did you all think of the race. Michael Waltrip put it best, if you dont think Daytona is good for racing, you dont know what you are talking about! Great second race finish! It was inches! And of course yayayayayayayayayay to our friend Tommy Baldwin and his driver Mike Bliss for making it in! You rock!

My worlds did collide and I didn't pass out!!!

Ahhh....so I met Timmy. I am very appreciative of my friends in the sport who gave me play by play on Tebow's location and very thankful for Darlynn who stuck by my side while I gathered up my nerve to meet him. That's Racing reports that when Tim is done with football, he might come to NASCAR to work on a pit crew! As you can see here, I was determined to meet Tim Tebow today....and my wish came true...

Thank you all!! xoxox
OH, By the way-there were two races today! Jimmie "I win everything Johnson" won race #1. Kasey Kahne won race #2. Very excited for Sunday.

My worlds have officially collided - Tim Tebow named Grand Marshall of Dual #1

I am applauding you NASCAR & Daytona International Speedway. You have gone above and beyond for the 2010 Speedweeks in Daytona Beach. First, the news came over that Tim McGraw will be the pre-race concert for the 500. A few days later, we found out that The Zac Brown Band would perform the pre and post race concerts at the Shootout (they were AMAZING by the way). After that, we find out about Harry Connick Jr. singing the National Anthem for the 500.....and now THIS:Tim Tebow named Grand Marshall of the 1st Gatorade Dual at Daytona. I almost crashed my car when I opened the email from DIS (that's what I get for checking my blackberry while driving). Timmy attended the 500 last year and I got cold feet when he walked right beside me. I was unable to approach him for a photo op and to tell him how much he meant to us Gator fans. I will make sure that somehow, someway, I will him tomorrow. If you were wondering, Jacksonville Jaguar Maurice Jones-Drew will be the Grand Marshall of race #2.

Now, speaking of the race tomorrow, the two 150-mile 60-lap Gatorade Dual races will finalize the starting lineup for NASCAR's most prestigious race, the 52 annual Daytona 500. During Saturday's Qualifying, the pole was snagged by #5 Mark Martin. Sitting on the outside of the front row is #88 Dale Earnhardt, Jr. That's right, a Hendrick's front row.

Below you will find the line up for both races. Everyone in red has to race to get in. The two drivers in green are able to use previous champion provisional's.

Race #1 2:00pm Thursday February 11
1. #5 Mark Martin Chevy (pole sitter for the 500)
2. #39 Ryan Newman
3. #21 Bill Elliott (previous champion#1, locked in)
4. #48 Jimmie Johnson
5. #33 Clint Bowyer
6. #18 Kyle Busch
7. #24 Jeff Gordon
8. #87 Joe Nemechek
9. #1 Jamie McMurray
10. #51 Michael Waltrip

Hey race fans, check it out. Mike and Angie Skinners house is on the market in Port Orange, FL . It's located in Spruce Creek Fly-In where fellow driver Mark Martin resides. Swoon!!! Harry Connick Jr will sing at the 500!!

Megan is excited about Tim McGraw but this press release made my day! I love Harry Connick Jr. even tho one time I saw him in concert and he had more makeup on than I have ever seen...hope he fired that girl :). Race Day stalk mode just got a little more interesting!

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Columbia Recording artist, singer and pianist Harry Connick Jr. will sing the National Anthem for the 52nd running of the Daytona 500 on Sunday, February 14, NASCAR biggest and most prestigious race of the season.

Three-time Grammy Award winner Connick recently released his 24th album titled ‘YOUR SONGS,’ which consists of Connick singing classic songs with a full orchestra, and, as with nearly all of Connick’s previous albums, he arranged and orchestrated all of the songs himself.

“We’re delighted to welcome Harry Connick Jr. to NASCAR’s most storied track – Daytona International Speedway,” Track President Robin Braig said. “Known world wide for his talented voice, we can’t wait to hear Harry Connick’s rendition of the National Anthem as he helps kick off NASCAR’s greatest spectacle – the Daytona 500.”

Since the release of his debut album in 1987, Connick has sold more than 25 million albums as well as maintained a successful acting career appearing in movies such as “Hope Floats,” “Memphis Belle,” “P.S. I Love You” and most recently “New In Town” with Renee Zellweger.

Connick has performed in front of the NASCAR family before singing at the season-ending awards ceremony back in 2003.

Tickets for all Hershey’s Milk & Milkshakes Speedweeks events, including the 52nd annual Daytona 500, are available on your web-enabled phone at mobile.daytonainternationalspeedway.com, online at www.daytonainternationalspeedway.com or by calling 1-800-PITSHOP.

From Roscoe Illinois to Daytona Beach Florida

Recently married Nicole Briscoe (Manske) got a chance to sit down and interview former High School Classmate and Cheerleader Partner, Danica Patrick. After all those years in school together, I wonder if either of them thought they would appear on ESPN together!

NASCAR Baby Boom 2010

Jeff Gordon and wife Ingrid Vandebosch are expecting their second child sometime in August.

Here is a note from his fan page:
Hey fans, Ingrid and I wanted to be the first to tell you (ok maybe not the first, but not far from it) the exciting news that Ingrid is 12 weeks pregnant and expecting our second child. We're very excited and can't wait to expand our family to four. Ella is also very excited and can't stop talking about how much she's looking forward to being a big sister. JG

I am starting to loose track of all the NASCAR pregnancy's out there. Jeff's good friend and teammate Jimmie Johnson & wife Chandra will have their first child in July. Carl Edwards and wife Kate are having a baby girl sometime this month and Elliot & Amanda Sadler are having a baby boy in April. That's going to be one busy playground in the Driver Owner lot!!

Whose next?? I for one am staying away from the Kool-Aid on pit road.

Keeping up with the Kardashians NASCAR style

At first we thought we were being punked when we received this press release and not by Ashton Kutcher, but by Tommy Baldwin. We do love celebrity NASCAR partnerships and pink cars, especially when said car has our favorite word Sephora on the hood. We just weren't expecting this one. Too bad this isn't happening in Daytona, for we would surely love to see it with our very own eyes. Or maybe a trip to Vegas is in our future? And PS, major kuddos to Tommy Baldwin Racing, who has secured two celebrity sponsorships over the past season. Last year with a multi race deal w/ one of our favorite Food Network stars, Guy Feirri and now with.......Drum roll please....

TOMMY BALDWIN ADDS KIM KARDASHIAN TO RACING TEAM. The No. 36 Chevrolet will feature the Kim Kardashian fragrance, "Kardashian" pink paint scheme for Shelby American NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race in Las Vegas on Feb. 28. This may be the most unique sponsor partnerships in NASCAR history.

Kim will star as the Grand Marshall for the Shelby American. I wonder if her man Reggie Bush will be there sporting a Super Bowl ring (here's to hoping!). If your headed out to my favorite race of the season, make sure you stop by and say hey to Kim. She will make a personal appearance in Las Vegas on Saturday, Feb. 27, at Sephora in The Venetian’s Grand Canal Shoppes from 7 to 9 p.m. (PT). Also on hand outside Sephora will be a TBR No. 36 Chevrolet, featuring the custom Kim Kardashian fragrance paint scheme that will be used the following day, Sunday, Feb. 28, at the Shelby American NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

“We are extremely pleased to be partnering with Kim for this race and getting her involved in our sport,” said Baldwin, who will have Mike Bliss in the driver’s seat. “She’ll certainly bring a lot of star power to the No. 36 Chevrolet.”

“I’m really looking forward to this partnership with Tommy Baldwin Racing and the opportunity to experience the exciting world of NASCAR up close,” Kardashian said. “It’s going to be truly amazing to see our car out there competing and exposing my new fragrance to millions of racing fans.”

There is a contest going on to join Kim in her personal Sephora appearance, an after-party at Tao Nightclub & at the race. For more details visit http://www.tommybaldwinracing.com.

ABOUT KIM KARDASHIAN’S FRAGRANCE:

A fragrance as voluptuous, sensual and beautiful as Kim herself. TV star, entrepreneur, model, actress and trendsetter, Kim Kardashian has it all. Now the pop culture icon adds another accomplishment to her portfolio: a trademark fragrance. Named for the captivating beauty and magnetic personality who inspired the fragrance, Kim Kardashian reflects the sensuality, femininity and appeal of one of the most idolized women in the world. Jennifer Jo Cobb will make debut in Daytona

Just another reminder that Danica Patrick wont be the only female to focus on in Daytona. If you remember, (we hope you do) we interviewed Jennifer in our Fast Lap feature last year.

Jennifer Jo Cobb Racing will debut the No. 10 Ford F-150 in the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at the Daytona International Speedway on February 12. Cobb will attempt a full schedule with the goal of winning the Raybestos Rookie-of-the-Year title.

Cobb has over 18 years of racing experience, rising up the ranks in the NASCAR grassroots levels. The Kansas City, Kan., native has four previous starts in the Camping World Truck Series, but is now ready to compete with the best drivers and teams in the series.

Cobb, also a motivational speaker, will draw attention to her fashion line, Driver Boutique and Driven for Men on her truck, but the team continues to look for additional partners for the season.

It wouldnt be fashionista-like if we didn't give you some feedback on Jennifer's line of clothing:

Love!! This is one of my favorite tee's from the line. Its cute, and a definite viable option to wear while at the track. We like that Jennifer takes her skills to the track and her mouth to the masses, motivating girls everywhere to copy her passion on the track where age or gender is not an obstacle.

Bitches on a Budget AKA Our New Life Mantra

Megan and I have a saying...remember when it was 2005? This is when we wistfully think of the times, when money grew on trees...when $100 lunches followed by ridiculous impulsive splurges were a daily occurrences...well, Bitches...we are not in Kansas anymore. Launched in this ridiculous economy, we have had some made some sacrifices! Wine only on Happy Hour, Dilliards instead of Neiman's...you catch my drift.

On my Facebook, I noticed one savy budget thinking friend become a fan of Bitches on a Budget...hmm whatever could this be??

Hands down one of the coolest most insightful reads in quite a while. Bitches on a Budget talks to you frankly and honestly and isn't that what we needed five years ago?? Its not too often that we recommend any kind of read...but I urge you to get your booty to a book store or Kindle it (don't get me started on my love affair with my Kindle), go to their website, get on their Facebook page, just do something, bitches. Race season is starting and we need all the help we can get!

Denny, you KNEE-d to be careful!

Good Gravy, when will these boys learn? Carl playing Frisbee, Jimmie doing God knows what on a golf cart...these boys are getting hurt off the track as much as on the track! ESPN reports today that Denny Hamlin ripped his ACL in his left knee. This is fresh off him recovering from surgery on his RIGHT knee in December! He has chosen to delay surgery until next years off-season. Denny is widely proclaimed among news sources as the one to watch upseat Jimmie Johnson in the 2010 racing season. Let hope when he does win, he doesnt do anything crazy to further any damage.

The Karma Gods have granted a wish....Tim McGraw @ the Daytona 500!!!!!!!!

Last year, we had the opportunity to meet Tom Cruise while listening to his ex-wives husband Keith Urban entertain us with a pre-race concert.
It was one of our only moments that all three of us were pretty star struck. Here's to hoping that 2010 brings us the opportunity to meet Mr. Tim McGraw, I WILL DIE! See the press release below from DIS and pray for us that we get the same luck as last season!

Superstar Tim McGraw To Perform The Daytona 500 Pre-Race Show
On Sunday, February 14, multiple Grammy Award winner and superstar Tim McGraw, who recently released his 10th studio album SOUTHERN VOICE, will perform the Daytona 500 Pre-Race Show, the pre-race extravaganza leading up to the start of “The Great American Race” at Daytona International Speedway. The Daytona 500 will be broadcast live on FOX, with pre-race coverage beginning at noon and the race starting at 1 p.m. EST.

McGraw, who has 30 #1 hits to his credit, will perform three songs prior to the start of the 52nd annual Daytona 500 – the season-opening event to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and the biggest stock car race in the world.
All race fans that purchase Pre-Race/Sprint FANZONE access pass for the Daytona 500 will be able to view McGraw’s Daytona 500 Pre-Race Show as well as the driver introductions from the grass tri-oval area.

“Tim McGraw is one of the most popular entertainers in the world and we’re thrilled to have him perform the Daytona 500 Pre-Race Show,” Daytona International Speedway President Robin Braig said. “Year in and year out, the Daytona 500 attracts top performers in music for the pre-race show and we excitedly await Tim McGraw’s rousing performance that will kick off the Daytona 500 as well as the new NASCAR season.”

Since the release of his debut album in 1993, McGraw has won three Grammys, 14 Academy of Country Music Awards, 11 Country Music Association Awards, and 10 American Music Awards, while simultaneously maintaining a parallel career as a successful actor. Vote for Michael Annett!

Our good buddy, Michel Annett was nominated for Central Iowa Sports Awards Athlete of the

Des Moines, Iowa (January 19, 2010) – The Des Moines Area Sports
Commission has announced the nominees for the first Central Iowa Sports

steering wheel.

Since the young athlete’s change in career paths, Annett has quickly
moved up the NASCAR ranks and is now in preparation for his second full
season in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Annett drives Germain Racing’s
No. 15 Pilot Travel Centers Toyota Camry and concluded the 2009 NASCAR
Nationwide Series season tenth in championship point standings.

“I’m extremely honored to represent Central Iowa each week throughout
the NASCAR Nationwide Series circuit,” said Annett, “being recognized

Meet the Cope Twins

photo nascar.com

Looking on Nascar.com today, we felt compelled to write about an article that Raygan Swan wrote about Derricke Cope's nieces The Cope Twins: Amber and Angela who will be coming soon to a track near you. Joining the ranks of up and coming women drivers, these girls are looking to get in the race (literally) provided they have some financial backing from potential sponsors as they intend to race in the Truck series this season. Dear Mr (or Mrs. thank you very much) Advertiser Sponsor, I dont care how bad the times are...please pay attention. This could definitely spark some brand name awareness for you. Here is hoping that the girls will garnish the attention from their driving skills and family legacy and not just their good looks, blonde hair and Paris Hilton similarities (see below). It looks like Kyle Busch may have competition for largest sunglasses in NASCAR. But we do love their Marilyn Monroe style firesuits! Thoughts??
