Ch Ch Changes for 2010-they dont call it Silly for Nothing

Unless you are on the internet 24/7 searching for NASCAR gossip which we hope it is only us who have no life...you may not be aware of some driver/sponsor/number changes for the Sprint Cup season. We will do our best to give you some info to make your 500 experience a little less confusing. The pictures that I have posted are the ones that will make you do a double take, i.e. the #43 not driven by Reed Sorrenson, that has a Best Buy sponsorship on it that is not driven by Elliott Sadler...you see what I mean. A public service from me to you that you dont go stalking after the wrong car!

#1- Bass Pro Shops Chevy now driven by Jamie McMurray

#2- Steve Addington will be the new crew chief for Busch not the Kyle but the Kurt. The Miller Light Dodge driven by Kurt Busch

#6- Donnie Wingo will be the new crew chief for the UPS Ford driven by David Ragan

#7- Robbie Gordon will have a new main sponsor (Monster Energy, for now) and a new crew chief (Iain Watt). Jim Beam will not return as a sponsor.

#9 -Kasey Kahne is now driving a Ford under new merged team Yates/Rousch

#12- Replacing David Stremme (and Coors) -Brad Keselowski has a new sponsor (Verizon) and crew chief (Jason Guy)
#17 Matt Kennseth will have a new sponsor in Crown Royal for 18 races. Dewalt Tools will not return.

#18 Dave Rogers will be the new crew chief for Kyle Busch

#19 RPM merged with Yates, putting Elliott Sadler in a Ford, unclear for Best Buy Sponsorship

#26 Replacing Jamie McMurray will be Boris Said, with Frankie Stoddard in the crew chief position for the Daytona 500 race. No Crown Royal on the #26 anymore.
#31 Jeff Burton gets a new crew chief with Todd Berrier replacing Scott Miller.

#34 John Andretti and Travis Kvapil have formed an alliance with Front Row Motorsports with this car, which is now a Ford.

#36 Tommy Baldwin will step down as crew chief to concentrate on the operational side of his race team. Mike Bliss is the new driver to this venture, Kevin Buskirk will be the crew chief and will now be in a Chevy. Wave Energy Drink will sponsor 18 races.

#37 and #38 Using the owner points of #96 and #98, the #37 will be run by Travis Kvapil for the 500 and Kevin Conway with sponsor Extenze for at least the next five races.
Both teams are now under the new umbrella Front Row Motosports with Yates Racing and have changed to Fords. #38 will have three drivers: Robert Richardson, John Andretti and David Gilliand. Randy Seals comes from RPM for the #38 and Peter Sospenzo will chief the #37. That car is also working on a deal to borrow owner points from the #44 and #96.

#43 is now driven by AJ Allmendinger replacing the ousted Reed Sorrenson. They have a part time sponsor with Best Buy for some races. They are in Fords...for now.

#49 David Gilliand for the 500 and Robbie Gordon for California and maybe more will run this car sponsored by Warner Brothers and Larry the Cable Guy. Stay tuned on this one...

#55 Michael McDowell will run a full season bearing sponsorship dollars and qualifying attempts. Michael Waltrip Racing keeps the team number and is helping Prism Motorsports out. Zach McGowan will debut as his crew chief.

#56 (formerly #55) Michael Waltrip steps out of the car after the 500 in the #51 to focus on the owner side of his business. Martin Truex Jr replaces him in the #56, Pat Tryson will crew chief coming over from his stint with Kurt Busch.

#71 TRG Motorsports gets a helping hand from Stewart Haas Racings pit crew and replacing David Gilliand will be Bobby Labonte. Losing that little engine that could image, TRG may or may not have a 2 car team this season. Slugger Labbe is out as he heads to the #98, and Doug Randolph, Casey Mears old crew chief will take the helm.

#78 Reagan Smith will have a new chief in Ryan Coniam, former engineer for Jacques Villeneuve and MB2 Motorsports. This team has also formed a technical partnership with Richard Childress. This team plans to run a full schedule in 2010.

#90 Casey Mears ends up with a ride after all, even if it is only for the first couple of races. Based on his performance, it may last longer. Doug Richert (Robbie Gordon) will be the crew chief. No permanent sponsor at this time is announced. Love the old school paint scheme!

#98 Paul Menard has a new crew chief in Slugger Labbe and will hopefully be able to retain his families' sponsorship for the full season.

A Fast Lap with Tony Stewart

With our past experiences in NASCAR, we have had the exciting opportunity to meet quite a few VIP's...but interviewing two time Sprint Cup Champion and NASCAR Bad Boy Tony Stewart was a chance of a lifetime. Although we were a little nervous going in, Tony was kind, patient, and the best interview we have had to date.

When we started to explain to Tony what the concept of our website was NASCAR for women with all their teeth and a touch of Fashion...he responded a fashion what? a fashion NASCAR site? HUH? He told us he has NO fashion sense whatsoever, and we need to get a credit card and go shopping with him. He credited his ex girlfriends and their still good standing relationships for keeping him clothed fashionably.

He told us about his upcoming designs for his Smoke by Tony Stewart fashion line. After hearing the initial concepts, which he promises will not be loud and proud NASCAR wear, we are looking forward to seeing it and hearing more about it.

So here is what you all have been waiting for, our Fast Lap with Tony Stewart!!

Both of us are cat owners and have to know, how on Earth do you travel with your cats?
Really easy, I have two boys that are brothers. Since day one, they have traveled with me and are somewhat used to it, and although one doesnt really like to travel once you get them to the weekend they are fine. They are easy...they are cats, make sure they have food and water and their litterbox is clean and I dont have to worry about it...

What one moment has star struck you the most?
Ill tell you someone I would like to meet but haven't met yet is Burt Reynolds. My favorite movie of all time is Smokey the Bandit (the original one) I even have a '79 Trans Am Smokey and the Bandit edition, so I would love to meet Burt Reynolds. I have met and am friends with Kid Rock and Diamond Rio. I met Matthew McConaughey last year when he was the Grand Marshall. This weekend when you come to the race there is gonna be a ton of celebrities there, professional athletes and entertainment industry-that part of it makes it pretty cool for us.

If you can have dinner and drinks with anyone dead or alive, who would it be?

Charlize Theron, preferably fresh off a divorce

We have 2500+ followers on Twitter and we asked them what they wanted us to ask you....one thing that came back a lot is why aren't you on Twitter?

Honestly?? Its good for people that can keep up with that, but if I had the time to Twitter properly, there is something work wise I should probably be doing. I think the technology side is cool, that side of it is awesome but I barely got on Facebook within the last year. I am one of those guys who is always a step behind in that category. I honestly don't want everyone to know what I am doing every minute of the day. If you have that much time to be doing that you probably have time to be doing something else more productive.

Do you have any pre-race traditions?

Before the race, I like to be by myself. Its kind of the calm before the storm I call it. I like to have a good lunch, I eat a steak before the race-something that is gonna last the 3 or 4 hour race. Relax and be by myself.

We hear your building a new home. What was the most important feature you put in the house?

I got a gigantic fish tank in there, its 12 feet tall by 10 feet tall. That is probably the coolest thing I have in there. Its freshwater and probably will be the most impressive thing in there.

When will it be completed?

By the middle of next summer

Is it in NC??

No, its in Indiana.

You're always upfront and totally honest with the media and your emotions. We believe you are the only driver that can get away with this. Why do you think that is?

You learn to fight the fights that are worth fighting. You can be honest but you just have to be conscious about how you do it. People want to hear honesty whether its popular or not, but you just have to try to not be abrasive with how you say it. How I can get away with it is I have cool sponsors that let me do it. Office Depot before we started together, that is what they liked about me. I am open about my thoughts and my passion for the sport. They realize as a corporate sponsor that fans aren't so excited about drivers that are politically correct anymore. They wanted someone who could show their emotions. Office Depot, Old Spice, Coca Cola, The US Army, Burger King, Tornados, all these companies-if it was totally wrong all these corporations wouldn't want to be a part of what we are doing. So, it makes you feel good that you have partners I think we have gotten good at getting our point across without getting everyone upset doing it.

We think that this is why you are someone's favorite driver because you speak your mind, and that there is a fine line between getting your point across and you seem to do it pretty eloquently....

Well, if you screw up enough times you are bound to get it right! Its hard, I remember when I left home my buddies said dont forget where you came from. I have always struggled to be me, the hard part for me was saying Ok, Listen I could still be me but this is who I am on the professional side too and no matter how much I want to be me on the personal side, this is who I am over here... you have to play two roles. Today I have to play a different role than tonight when I will be with my buddies playing cards. You learn how to do that, you can show people you still know who you are on this side but you can still show them how you are on the other side. I think people appreciate that.

Pictures and Thoughts from the Gatorade Duels

One thing I love about the Friday after the Duels is its a good chance to relax...if you want to go to the track during the day you can, but it gives you a chance to regroup and get your stuff together before tonights Truck race.
Here are some pictures we took yesterday from different vantage points like Pit Road and the Daytona 500 club that you might enjoy. If you have some extra cash this race week, or if you know peeps (thanks RB) why dont you check out the Daytona 500 club? Fun!

Jamie McMurray, a more cheerful collaboration for Bass Pro we promise...he even THANKED his pit crew pre-race!

Mrs Jeff Gordon with Ella carefully covered her baby bump on Pit Road

Ok, I'm not a professional but this is a good picture haha

Kasey Kahne in Victory Lane

The World's Biggest #9 Fan A.J. (too cute not to repost)

So what did you all think of the race. Michael Waltrip put it best, if you dont think Daytona is good for racing, you dont know what you are talking about! Great second race finish! It was inches! And of course yayayayayayayayayay to our friend Tommy Baldwin and his driver Mike Bliss for making it in! You rock!

My worlds did collide and I didn't pass out!!!

Ahhh....so I met Timmy. I am very appreciative of my friends in the sport who gave me play by play on Tebow's location and very thankful for Darlynn who stuck by my side while I gathered up my nerve to meet him. That's Racing reports that when Tim is done with football, he might come to NASCAR to work on a pit crew! As you can see here, I was determined to meet Tim Tebow today....and my wish came true...

Thank you all!! xoxox
OH, By the way-there were two races today! Jimmie "I win everything Johnson" won race #1. Kasey Kahne won race #2. Very excited for Sunday.

My worlds have officially collided - Tim Tebow named Grand Marshall of Dual #1

I am applauding you NASCAR & Daytona International Speedway. You have gone above and beyond for the 2010 Speedweeks in Daytona Beach. First, the news came over that Tim McGraw will be the pre-race concert for the 500. A few days later, we found out that The Zac Brown Band would perform the pre and post race concerts at the Shootout (they were AMAZING by the way). After that, we find out about Harry Connick Jr. singing the National Anthem for the 500.....and now THIS:Tim Tebow named Grand Marshall of the 1st Gatorade Dual at Daytona. I almost crashed my car when I opened the email from DIS (that's what I get for checking my blackberry while driving). Timmy attended the 500 last year and I got cold feet when he walked right beside me. I was unable to approach him for a photo op and to tell him how much he meant to us Gator fans. I will make sure that somehow, someway, I will him tomorrow. If you were wondering, Jacksonville Jaguar Maurice Jones-Drew will be the Grand Marshall of race #2.

Now, speaking of the race tomorrow, the two 150-mile 60-lap Gatorade Dual races will finalize the starting lineup for NASCAR's most prestigious race, the 52 annual Daytona 500. During Saturday's Qualifying, the pole was snagged by #5 Mark Martin. Sitting on the outside of the front row is #88 Dale Earnhardt, Jr. That's right, a Hendrick's front row.

Below you will find the line up for both races. Everyone in red has to race to get in. The two drivers in green are able to use previous champion provisional's.

Race #1 2:00pm Thursday February 11
1. #5 Mark Martin Chevy (pole sitter for the 500)
2. #39 Ryan Newman
3. #21 Bill Elliott (previous champion#1, locked in)
4. #48 Jimmie Johnson
5. #33 Clint Bowyer
6. #18 Kyle Busch
7. #24 Jeff Gordon
8. #87 Joe Nemechek
9. #1 Jamie McMurray
10. #51 Michael Waltrip
11. #6 David Ragan
12. #43 A J Allmendinger
13. #99 Carl Edwards
14. #11 Denny Hamlin
15. #29 Kevin Harvick
16. #31 Jeff Burton
17. #78 Regan Smith
18. #16 Greg Biffle
19. #32 Reed Sorenson
20. #13 Max Papis
21. #34 John Andretti
22. #97 Jeff Fuller
23. #38 Robert Richardson

11. #14 Tony Stewart
12. #00 David Reutimann
13. #98 Paul Menard
14. #9 Kasey Kahne

24. #66 Dave Blaney

26. #92 Mike Wallace
27. #57 Norm Benning

As a side note, tomorrow may test Darlynn and my friendship. She loyally stuck by my side over the last 4 years, rolling her eyes every time she heard the name Tebow come out of my mouth. Hopefully she can handle one more day of it. I promise you D, if Christian Ponder was the Grand Marshall, I would help you stalk him!

Kyle and Samantha Engaged!

With all the baby bump news in the air, how about throwing some good engagement news in the mix! Via twitter, we learned this week that Kyle Busch and Samantha Sarcinella are engaged to be married. I am liking that Kyle and Samantha are both are on Twitter, along with a rash of drivers this week getting on the Twitter bandwagon like Jamie McMurray and Travis Kvapil.

Congrats to Kyle and Samantha! GREAT job on the ring, Kyle! I am now going to show my boyfriend this awesome new article I just wrote...hint, hint......
